Our Doctor – William A. Hamilton, MD

Dr. William A. Hamilton, MD Fredericksburg VA Gynecologist

A native of Kansas, I obtained undergraduate and medicine degrees from University of Kansas.  I then was in Baltimore for my resident training.  After residency, I served in The United States Navy.  Our family came to Fredericksburg in 1995, and I have been in solo practice since 1997.

While at Mary Washington Hospital, I have served as Chairman of Obstetrics and Gynecology and President of The Medical Staff.  I continue to serve as Chairman of the Women’s Health Institute, as a member of the Cancer Committee, and I serve on the Board of Fredericksburg Ambulatory Surgery Center.  I am very proud of my service to the Mary Washington Healthcare system and the improvements we have made in providing top quality care to the Fredericksburg area community.

When not at the office or the hospital, I can be seen running the streets of Fredericksburg.

Dr. William A. Hamilton is board-certified and has more than 20 years of experience in obstetrics and gynecology care. Our Friendly and Helpful Staff

Fredericksburg VA OB/GYN Staff at Dr. Hamilton's practiceThe brilliant staff of Dr.Hamilton’s practice is one of the things that set this practice apart. His team is warm and welcoming and great at what they do. They all agree that they love seeing moms progress through their pregnancies and feel grateful to be a part of that happy time.

Sandy S. has lived in Fredericksburg for 33 years and worked for Dr.Hamilton for 18 of those as both a nurse and an administrator. She plans to work for him until she retires! This year she and her husband plan to celebrate 50 years of marriage with a cruise to Alaska. She has a dear son who is a television producer for PBS in Richmond, and four excellent grandchildren; three of them (including a set of twins) are in college and a ten year old who is in the National Honor Society. She and her husband share their home with their furry best friend Sydney.

Katie V. grew up in Maryland. Since moving to Fredericksburg she has worked for Dr. Hamilton for almost five years as a CMA. In that time she has gotten married and started a family. Her 7 month old daughter was delivered by Dr. Hamilton! In her theoretical free time, she likes to craft, play with her 3 furry friends, and watch her darling baby girl grow and learn.

Peggy B. has been a receptionist for Dr. Hamilton for 8 years. She is the proud mom of three wonderful sons and Teddy (a rescue dog). Outside of the office, she owns and operates (with the help of Teddy) a small vineyard and sells grapes to local wineries. In recent years, she has been inspired by Dr. Hamilton to run in some local races.

Jen B. has been an RN for 16 years, the last two have been with Dr. Hamilton. At home, she is a Den leader for two Cubscouts (aged 10 and 7), two honorary cubs (of the K9 variety), and wife to their Cubmaster. The whole pack loves to roam about in the wild, especially hiking and camping in the mountains of Shenandoah National Park or water sporting on Lake Anna.

Suzie has been working for Dr. Hamilton since 1998. She and her husband of 34 years have two beautiful daughters, a strikingly handsome grandson, and a great little rescue dog named Stella. When she isn’t hard at work in the office, she loves to hang out on the beach with Stella and spend time with her adoring family.

Gail D. is Dr. Hamilton’s office manager. She started as Dr.Hamilton’s first receptionist when he opened his practice in 1997. She recalls when every patient chart was in a single stack on the nurse’s desk and has really enjoyed watching the practice grow. She and her husband of 35 years have two excellent sons that they are very proud of. Her oldest protects and serves us as a police officer and her youngest is a former Marine who served in Iraq and has made it home safe and sound.
